Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?
To cancel or reschedule a reservation, please let us know by phone at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment. We request a 48-hour notice for any multiple-service appointment. Sorry, at this time we cannot accept reservation changes via email.
Do you accept Personal Checks?
Of course. We accept cash and personal checks for any products or services. Should a check be returned to us by the bank for any reason, we will pass on to you the $30 service fee.
Are gift certificates available?
Serenity is pleased to offer gift cards in any denomination. They may be purchased in spa and also on our website. Click this button on any page.
I bought or won a gift certificate for one of your packages, but the package is no longer available (or the price has changed). What happens now?
Gift cards and certificates, work just like cash (with the exception that they have no cash surrender value). They can be redeemed for Serenity Day Spa and Wellness Center services up to the dollar amount printed on the certificate or shown when the card is swiped. If your certificate is for a particular service or package, and that package is no longer offered, you may use the card or certificate to purchase other spa services or products up to that dollar amount. If there has been a price increase for the package you purchased, the price at the time of service will be the price honored.
I have a gift certificate for $100, but I only used $80 in services. Can I get a cash refund for the $20 balance?
We’re sorry, but our gift cards have no cash surrender value. Your balance can be applied toward any spa service or product from our Unique Boutique.
Can I bring my children with me to Serenity?
Children accompanied by an adult are welcome to visit the spa for the purpose of making appointments, making purchases from the Unique Boutique or similar brief periods. However, in order that we may maintain a tranquil atmosphere conducive to relaxation and safety, the spa is not an appropriate place for unaccompanied children for any amount of time.
What should I do with my valuables during my visit?
Depending on your personal comfort level, you can either keep your valuables with you during treatment (your therapist will provide an area to put them while you enjoy your services), or deposit them in the lockers we provide for this purpose. We do encourage you not to bring any unnecessary valuables into the spa with you, as we cannot be responsible for their loss or damage, and relaxed clients are more apt to forget extra belongings after services.
What should I bring with me to my spa appointment?
Just your desire for great personal care and the anticipation of deeply relaxing bodywork and treatments. We’ll provide a robe for you to wear while you’re being pampered. You decide whether to leave on or to remove your undergarments during treatment, according to your comfort level.
What should I wear into the sauna and steam room?
Because appointment time is privately reserved, our guests enjoy these areas alone. Wraps and towels for men and women are provided for your use during your visit, preserving your warm, dry robe to wear after steam or sauna.
Are group bookings available?
We’re delighted to accommodate your group. Please review our comprehensive menu; we offer a la carte services to ensure that each member of your group can tailor their spa experience with us.
For Group Booking Requests Please Submit this Form or Call Us Directly.
Our front desk staff is eager to assist with any questions or special requests to enhance your stay. Besides the steam, sauna, salt and red light rooms, your group can also relax in our lounge, cafe area, and private event room. For larger groups, we strive to ensure your group has exclusive access to our common areas. However, we kindly ask that you remain mindful of other guests not in your party and maintain a quiet spa voice when socializing.
Can I make arrangements for a standing appointment?
Absolutely! We will do our best to accommodate any requests for standing appointments, working with you to most conveniently schedule your request for regular, recurring appointments weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
What is your policy regarding the use of cell phones?
We ask that you turn off or mute all personal electronic devices any time you bring them in the spa. Better yet, leave them in your car so you —and the rest of our guests—might fully enjoy your escape into Serenity. Remember that in our serene environment, even a vibrating cell phone will be a disruption to your relaxation.
How should I prepare for my appointment for a waxing service?
For best results, please allow 1/2 inch of hair growth by the day of your waxing appointment, for most clients this will be about 7 days since the last time you shaved the area.
IMPORTANT: For your safety, please be aware that if you are using Retin-A, Differin, Renova, Accutane, blood-thinning drugs, certain antibiotics or alpha hydroxy products, please check with your doctor before making appointments for any waxing services. While on such medications, you may put yourself at risk by submitting to waxing procedures. In addition, guests with conditions such as diabetes, pregnancy, hemophilia, skin conditions and auto-immune disorders should check with their doctors prior to making waxing appointments.
Should I shave before my spa services?
We recommend not shaving on the day that you will be receiving any service that involves exfoliation on the body (removal of dead skin cells) to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort. Gentlemen, you will want to shave the morning of a facial.
What are my responsibilities as a guest?
Please advise our staff of any special requests, sensitivities or allergies, so we can use appropriate products in your services. Please also let us know if you are pregnant, nursing or taking any medications. Please notify us of any discomfort or preferences regarding room temperature, music volume or massage pressure during your services. We’ll use this information to keep you comfortable and safe throughout your spa experience.
If I’m pregnant, what spa services can I safely receive?
Expectant guests may receive any nail and facial services that do not include a peel or certain dermatological products. Once you are safely into your second trimester, pregnant guests may receive a pregnancy massage. We recommend that you check with your physician before booking any spa services. We will not perform wraps, hot stone services or deep tissue work on expectant guests.
What if I have special medical conditions?
We recommend that you check with your physician before visiting Serenity. Please notify us of any special needs or concerns when you book your services. Your therapist will also briefly review your health history with you before beginning your service on your initial visit with us. If (s)he believes that the service you have scheduled is unsafe based on any information given, (s)he may recommend canceling the service, booking another service or modifying the service to make it safe for you. Because our greatest concern is for your safety and comfort, we will always choose to err on the side of caution. Serenity reserves the right to refuse service to any guest at any time.
Anything else I should know?
It’s always a good idea to stay well-hydrated, but you should be sure to drink plenty of water particularly after any body treatment or massage. These services break up toxins that have collected in your body, and you must drink enough water to help flush them out of your system to derive the full value of your services.
